Week of March 13th

Tyler and his reading buddy, Buddy!

Flannel Friday a couple week ago!

Go Packers!

I love Evan, yes I do! :)

One of my favorite thing as a teacher is seeing students helping one another. Avery is our go-to gal for elapsed time in ST Math.

The boys' Honor Choir came and performed for us on Monday. I was so impressed!

Laurel and Annika bought a "wear PJs for the day" coupon. So cute and comfy!

Bennett got to spend the weekend at this favorite place - on the Stillwater River. Give that boy a stick and he is good for HOURS! :)

Ellecia was sweet enough to get Bennett a "love bug" for Valentine's Day. He requests it every night before bed! Thanks again, Ellecia!

This week in reading we will be answering the essential question: How can others inspire us? We will have the chance to read some narrative and free verse poems. We will focus on the skills of repetition and rhyme, theme, figurative language, and using commas in sentences. Our vocabulary words this week are: adventurous, courageous, extremely, weird, free verse, narrative poem, repetition, and rhyme. All of this weeks spelling words have a soft c or g.

In math this week, we should wrap up Chapter 10 with measurement and volume. Last week we took a short quiz on time, which most students did fairly well on. We also worked on measuring objects to the nearest quarter inch. This week we will work on measuring liquid volume (mL and L) and measuring mass (g and kg). By the end of the week we should be ready for our Chapter 10 test!

Have a great snowy weekend! I am looking forward to NEXT weekend when all the snow has melted!

March 23rd - End of Quarter
April 3rd - No School
April 6th - PTA Meeting
April 12th - Early Out (Noon)
April 13 - 17 - No School

Code Word = For the $100 bonus this week, please write a sentence with an alliteration in your child's planners! They should be getting good at these! (Example - Teeny, tiny Teddy took ten tables today.)
