Week of April 4th

Tyton was all dressed up for picture day... which actually turned out to be Spirit Day. He looked handsome, none-the-less!

I loved Amy's shirt :)

Evan's fluffy hair made my day!

Jackson took third place at his wrestling tournament. Way to go, buddy!

My childhood best friend, Kaitlyn, also happens to be Sam's aunt. She was in town for a visit, so she brought in her baby for us to meet.

Sam and his cute cousin, Cora!

Bennett found a pair of Paw Patrol gardening gloves. His life is now complete! ha!

This week in reading we will be on Unit 5, Week 2, which will focus on the question: How can we reuse what we already have? We will read two realistic fiction stories: "Bravo, Tavo!" and "The New Hoop." We will also read the expository (factual) text called "Trash into Art." We will work on the skills of summarizing, point of view, homographs, and pronouns this week. All of our spelling words this week will have inflected endings (-ed, -ing, -s).

In math, we will continue on in Chapter 11, which is focusing on perimeter and area. Students are doing fabulous on this math standard. I am seriously impressed!

In science, we will begin working on building our compound machine.

We will use our social studies time to continue researching our hero for our reports and Wax Museum project. Your child has a folder that they are using to organize the information they are gathering. Please touch base with them to see how their research is coming along. I told them that by May, they should be an absolute expert on their hero!

Have an amazing weekend!  If you have any questions regarding your child's report card, please don't hesitate to email or call.
