Week of May 15th

On Monday we celebrated the amazing Addison's birthday! Love that girl and her sweet smile, creative art, and helpful nature. Happy, happy, happy birthday Addison! We are so lucky to have you in our class.

On Tuesday we celebrated Jenna's birthday. She is one amazing girl. Sweet, hard working, funny, and kind. And the way she handles her diabetes inspires me daily -- she never complains and always keeps an optimistic attitude! You are amazing, Jenna!

This cracked me up - there is a lot of lolly gagging AND dilly dallying that happens at the end of each day in our classroom ;)

Sure am going to miss those sweet human beings. They make my life brighter each and every day!

Sunshine + smiles + friendship = life is good!

We finished reading "The Tale of Despereaux" last week and got to watch the movie. I was surprised how many students loved the movie more than the book, because I am the complete opposite. I always prefer the books and get mad when the movie strays from the novel's events.

Here is a snapshot of what we will be doing in Wonders reading this week:

This week's vocabulary words:

In math, we will continue to review concepts that will help student's in fourth grade. I will also expose them to a few "bonus" concepts, such as 2x1 digit multiplication and exponents.

In science, we will construct our compound machines.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Enjoy the sunshine and those amazing kiddos! Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms! We hope you enjoyed your rainbows, tea, pictures, poems, and questionnaires.
