I think introductions are due.

Hi All,

Your students and I survived our first day together in Mrs. Peterson's absence but we are ecstatic for her to have her baby. I will try to post to Mrs. Peterson's blog daily so that you are able to track student assignments and upcoming events. Mrs. Peterson was able to post this week's spelling words so we are ahead of the curve. Today we started a new unit in our Lead 21 series called Seeking the Unknown and read pages 71 to 79 in our theme readers. In addition, we introduced our theme vocabulary words: analyze, navigate, and deliver. Today was our spelling pretest for Unit 7 and we will be studying -r controlled vowels. "Her Nurse Works Early," is one of my favorite ways to demonstrate the principal that will be beginning to explore. In math we started dividing larger dividends in chapter 3 section 8 and a worksheet was assigned. Whatever was not completed in class was assigned as homework. Lastly, we continued our study of Native Americans in Social Studies. We explored the Migration Theory and documented our understanding through a summary activity in our Social Studies workbooks. This week and the following weeks we will be examining the idea of a persuasive essay in writing. If you have any questions, comments or concern, please feel free to reach me through email or here at the school.

As always, remember Mountain Math and Mountain Language. Drops in a Bucket were distributed today and will be collected on Thursday.
