Inquiry Projects

We presented our Unit 2 Inquiry Projects this week! The students did a terrific job teaching their classmates all about Drones, Roller Coasters, and how TVs and Computers have evolved and changed over time. Here are two of the groups posters...

STEM Challenge Fun!

We completed our second STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) challenge yesterday! What a fun time! Students were challenged to create a structure (using only 20 dot candies and toothpicks) that was tall AND could hold the weight of a textbook. Only a few pairs succeeded :)  It really got us talking and thinking about the Scientific Design Process - Ask, Explore, Model, Evaluate, and Explain.

Red Ribbon Week

To celebrate Red Ribbon Week, we will have daily dress up days that show off our pride in wanting to be drug, alcohol, and tobacco free.

Thank you!

A HUGE thank you to those who donated to our classroom Minecraft basket for Saturday Live! Our basket sold for $240! Thanks to our room mom, Cara, for putting our basket together for us. Arrowhead's basket auction was a huge success. We were able to raise $5,800 dollars! Wow! Thanks again for all your help and donations! All the money we raised at Saturday Live directly benefits each student at Arrowhead!

I introduced students to a cool math website today. They were pretty excited about it, which makes my heart so happy :)

MAP Testing

Mark your calendars! Our class will be taking our Fall MAP tests on September 15th, 16th, and 18th (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday). Please make sure your child comes to school well-rested and with a healthy snack. Thanks!

Water bottles!

We are so very fortunate to have the only classroom at Arrowhead with real walls and a door! However, we are the only classroom that doesn't have a sink. So, it is crucial that your child brings a FULL water bottle to school each morning. Please, please, please help encourage your child to make it a habit to bring a filled water bottle to school each day. This will help ensure we are not wasting class time out in the hallway at the drinking fountain. Thanks so much for your support!
