Class Celebration

Our class has officially earned their goal of 50 compliments! So, on Friday, December 17th, during their “free choice time”, students will be enjoying a reward earned by our class. The students may bring an electronic device, board game, etc. They may choose to bring I-pods or hand-held electronic games such as Game-Boy DS and PSP. If they choose to bring electronics, they assume responsibility for the game’s safety, and it must remain in their backpack until choice time begins. The games will not be allowed out at recess or in the classrooms until that time. Additionally, all games must have an “E” or “E-10” rating. No Teen or Mature games will be permitted. If you have any questions about this “celebration”, please feel free to call me at school or e-mail me.
Students who elect not to bring an electronic or game can either play with someone who has brought one or can use a classroom computer.

Thank you to everyone for making it a wonderful year of conferences! I had 100% of parents show, which is amazing! This truly is a phenomenal group of kids, who I feel so blessed to get to teach.

Quick Reminder

Just a quick reminder that students will get out at noon on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday due to conferences! Monday and Tuesday will be normal school days.

Red Ribbon Week

Next week is Red Ribbon Week: Don't forget to dress up!

Mon: Crazy Socks "Sock it to Drugs"
Tues: Wear sweats! "Living Drug-Free is no sweat!"
Wed: Wear your clothes backwards "Turn your back on drugs"
Thurs: Sunglasses "Shade out drugs"
Fri: Halloween Costume "Say BOO to drugs" (This is the only $1 dress up day)

Family Fun Night

Tonight is Arrowhead's Family Fun Night for October! Make sure to come check out the fun Halloween games and activities from 6:00-8:00. Don't forget to wear your costume!

Also, on October 29th Arrowhead's Spirit Day will be Halloween costumes. Here are the guidelines that need to be followed if students chose to wear their costumes to school:

No Masks
No Hair Dye
Minimal Make-up
No Props (Swords, canes, wands, etc..)
Costumes must be flexible enough for recess and bathroom use.....

Please make sure that you are reviewing and signing your child's planner every night. This helps strengthen the communication between home and school, ensuring we are all on the same page!

Saturday Live Baskets

Our class brainstormed, voted, and decided on two basket themes for Saturday Live. We decided on "Stupendous Sports Sack" and "Chick Flick."

Look for the flyer in this week's Tuesday Folder with more information on the baskets (including ideas for items to go in each basket).

Any contributions would be greatly appreciated!

NWEA Testing

Just an FYI: Our class will be taking our Fall NWEA tests on Monday, September 13th and Wednesday, September 15th.

Ice Cream Social

This Friday, September 10th, is Arrowhead's annual Ice Cream Social / Carnival.

I honestly cannot believe that the school year is almost over! Wow - this year has FLOWN by!

I want to thank you all for a wonderful teacher appreciation week. I loved my American Idol experience, and am so grateful for the generous gift. I went and bought lots of perennial flowers this weekend. Every year when they bloom, I will think of this special group of kids, and this amazing school year. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

MontCAS testing

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that it is almost March! The school year is flying by and I am enjoying each and every day with your children. Thanks for raising such amazing kids!
I wanted let you know of our upcoming testing dates. Starting Tuesday, March 2nd, we will be taking the MontCAS tests in Reading, Math, and Science. It will take us the entire week to complete testing (March 2nd – March 5th).
We will take the tests in the mornings and afternoons, so please make sure your child eats a nutricious breakfast and packs a healthy snack. Also, please make sure that your child gets a good night’s (or weeks) sleep. ☺

In Need...

As the math concepts are getting more difficult, I foresee needing more volunteers during Accelerated Math! Please let me know if you are willing to Volunteer on Friday afternoons from 12:40-1:20. Even on Friday a month would be greatly appreciated!

Big Sky Fit Shirts

Parents,

As you probably know by now, our class is participating in the Big Sky Fit Kids program during February, March, and April. Your child should be tracking their physical activity, as well as the amount of fruits and veggies they are eating. This program is totally FREE! However, if your child wants a shirt, they are available for $5.

So, if you want to order a shirt for your child, please send the $5 to school with your child BY Friday.

Half Way...

Wow! Today marks the end of the second quarter, which means we are half way through the year! Time sure flies when having fun! :) I am so thankful that I get to teach such polite, intelligent, and funny kids everyday.

Just a reminder that there is NO school on Monday. Enjoy the three day weekend!

Also, report cards will go home next Friday, January 22nd. Please remember to return the signed envelope to school.
